Job Summary

Amergis is seeking a skilled and compassionate Progressive Care Unit Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare staff, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care to telemetry/progressive care patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care on a progressive care unit.
  • Perform focused interviews to identify specific patients' needs and assess signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patients' condition.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data and information from healthcare members and document actual and/or potential nursing diagnoses.
  • Develop and implement a plan of care using identified nursing diagnoses, expected patient outcomes, and selected nursing interventions.
  • Provide a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic patient environment and initiate and evaluate patient and/or family education.
  • Revises the plan of care according to evaluation, changes in medical plan of care, effective/ineffective nursing interventions, and documents patients' response to nursing and other interventions.
  • Use clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meet patient care needs of an assigned unit/floor, including establishing priorities and monitoring safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.
Requirements
  • Current Registered Nurse License for the state in which the nurse practices.
  • One year prior professional nursing experience preferred, with one year progressive care unit experience preferred.
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice.
  • Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable.
  • Current CPR if applicable.
  • TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray if applicable.
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site.
  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required.
  • Computer proficiency required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
