MJ Care is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Rehabilitation Director - Physical Therapist Assistant to lead our rehabilitation services team. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the operation of our contract sites and personnel, as well as managing patient caseloads for your respective discipline.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Care: Responsible for patient treatment, ensuring that at least 60% of total hours are dedicated to patient care.
- Communication: Assist the Regional Director in promoting community awareness of therapy services, establish and maintain relationships with facility administrators and staff, and facilitate resolution of specific issues through effective oral, written, and postural communications.
- Staffing/Hiring: Consult with the Regional Director regarding salary limitations, provide evidence of need for present and/or additional staff, and assist in the hiring process for rehab staff.
- Nurturing/Coaching/Consulting: Recognize, support, and offer constructive feedback to all rehab staff.
- Staff Evaluation/Performance Review: Evaluate the performance of all rehab staff with the assistance of the Regional Director and consultants.
- Fiscal Responsibilities: Assist in developing budgets, analyze productivity, monitor utilization of department resources, and monitor/approve timesheets.
- Graduated from an accredited Therapist program.
- Minimum of 3 years clinical experience as a PT, OTR, SLP, COTA, or PTA, including a minimum of 1 year of experience as a supervisor.
- Effective interpersonal communication skills.
- Effective organizational skills at the managerial level.
- Experience in business management preferred.
- Acceptable personal grooming and dress.
- Valid National Provider Identifier (NPI).
- Valid driver's license in good standing and access to insured car.
- Successful completion of a caregiver background check and pre-employment screen.
- Use of upper extremities for light repetitive, fine motor tasks.
- Adequate senses to safely and effectively treat patients or assist in emergency situations.
- Has a working knowledge of the proper and safe use of therapy equipment.
- Medium to heavy physical demand level, exertion of force up to 50-75 pounds occasionally and 20-50 pounds frequently.
- Good problem-solving, organizational, math, and communication skills.
- Able to concentrate, learn, possess good memory and listening skills.
- Good time management skills, able to prioritize.
- Ability to diffuse emotional situations and promote harmony within the department.
- Able to interact in a personal and professional manner to ensure that the department functions in the best possible way to ensure quality care is provided.
- Per individual state requirements. For OTR/COTA - NBCOT certification is required.
