The role of Interventional Radiology Technologist Senior - Clinical Operations Expert is to support the coordination of staff and area functions, as well as serve as a liaison for physicians. This position performs various imaging procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice, and adheres to the policies, values, and mission of the organization.
Salary: $10,000 Sign-on Bonus Eligible (2-year commitment), plus estimated salary range $75,000 - $90,000 per year.
Job Description:
This job provides support of coordination of staff and area functions; may serve as a physician liaison. This job performs various imaging procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assists in setting up the interventional suite with appropriate instruments and supplies.
Utilizes proper aseptic techniques and practices standard precautions. Follows policy for medication, contrast, and specimen handling.
Assists with preparing, positioning, and draping patients and participates in the interventional space to assure correct patient and surgical site.
Acts as a mentor to less experienced technologists. Assists with new hire orientation and training activities. Conducts new product testing. Schedules employee shifts. Performs precepting/orientation, and educates residents. Covers chief tech duties as assigned.
Understands, anticipates, and adapts to interventional provider preference and patient care variables, and contributes to updating interventional provider preference materials.
Completes all required documentation for procedures e.g. regulatory, billing protocols and image distribution.
Maintains adequate supplies for efficient section/department operations. Participates in inventory control and monitoring.
Implements radiation protection and patient safety standards.
Other duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications:
Required:
Associate's degree or certification from a technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2 years of experience in prior experience working as an Interventional Radiology Technologist.
Radiography Certification and Registration (R) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Vascular Interventional Radiography Certification and Registration (VI) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 18 months of hire.
CPR – American Heart Association.
Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree.
