Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Systems Engineering Co-op/Intern to join our team at ACIST Medical Systems. As a Systems Engineering Co-op/Intern, you will support the definition, analysis, specification, and validation of medical devices used for interventional cardiology and diagnostic imaging.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the definition of user needs, system and sub-system requirements, and system architecture.
  • Develop and perform testing to support architectural decisions and system characterization.
  • Remediate requirements to align with the selected architecture of fielded medical devices.
  • Use requirement and test management tools to create and communicate traceability between system artifacts.
  • Partner with team members to help diagnose product issues.
  • Perform trade-off analyses to aid technical decision-making.
  • Acquire, analyze, and report results for product testing and reliability data.
Training and Development

Students will be exposed to working with various operations and product support departments within ACIST Medical Systems. They will learn key requirements which need to be followed in a regulated environment such as the medical device industry. Training may cover relevant aspects of medical device development procedures, along with more specific aspects related to ACIST Medical Systems products.

Qualifications
  • Minimum At least two years of study towards a bachelor's degree in engineering or other scientific discipline program.
  • Preferred Enrolled in a biomedical, electrical, mechanical, software, or systems engineering program.
  • Practical knowledge designing across multiple disciplines including mechanical, electrical, and software engineering.
  • Experience using requirement and test management tools (e.g., Jama).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High degree of organizational skills and high attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Testing and data analysis experience.
