Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialist

At St. Luke's Hospital, we are committed to delivering exceptional patient care and advancing the field of obstetrics and gynecology. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialist, you will play a critical role in our team's mission.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough ultrasound examinations on obstetric patients under the guidance of a Perinatologist, utilizing established protocols and individual judgment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, presenting explanations and instructions in a clear and concise manner, and responding to their questions and concerns.
- Perform a variety of OB ultrasound examinations, recognizing sonographic characteristics of normal and abnormal tissues, structures, and blood flow, and adjusting scanning technique to optimize image quality.
- Analyze sonography findings throughout the examination, providing comprehensive data to the Perinatologist for patient management and diagnosis.
- Assist the Perinatologist with guidance imaging during invasive procedures, and prepare for and assist with the introduction or placement of intra-cavity devices.
- Ensure proper disinfection of medical equipment and devices, adhering to regulatory standards.
- Record diagnostic images and patient data for archival purposes and use by the interpreting Perinatologist.
- Frequent use of fingers and hands in operating equipment and for paperwork.
- Standing and walking for up to 7 hours per day, with sitting for up to 1 hour per day.
- Pushing, pulling, and lifting patients and litters up to 300 pounds with assistance, and lifting and moving objects up to 40 pounds.
- Frequent bends, stoops, and crouches, with the ability to reach above shoulder level.
- Normal hearing and vision requirements.
- Graduate from an accredited formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program.
- American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) registration in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- Nuchal Translucency and Cervical Length certifications within one year of hire.
- Minimum of one-year experience in obstetrical ultrasound.
- Certification in OB/GYN within 1 year of hire date.
- Current CPR certification.
- Knowledge of computer basics.
