We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facility Maintenance Technician to join our team at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. This is a critical role that requires a strong background in mechanical trades and a proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate with Utility Plant Operations Supervisors and outside maintenance personnel to ensure proper preventive and corrective maintenance on all associated equipment.
- Operate and maintain sophisticated control systems and equipment associated with the production and distribution of steam to campus.
- Calibrate and maintain gas monitors for the confined space entry program.
- Perform 25% of operation and maintenance of boilers, 30% of preventive maintenance and repairs, 15% of water testing, analysis, and treatment, 15% of fuel and repair supplies procurement and storage, and 10% of training and supervision.
- Maintain the confined space entry program and equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalency.
- Valid NC driver's license.
- Experience in the trade area related to the area of assignment may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
- Preferred qualifications include high school diploma or GED, valid NC driver's license, steam plant experience, plumbing experience, electrical experience, and back flow certification.
