About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse I to join our team at Mount Sinai Health System. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting the delivery of exceptional medical services.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and escort patients for exams and procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience.
  • Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, and physician instructions to patients, promoting informed decision-making and patient empowerment.
  • Administer medications, including injections, IV therapy, and other treatments as needed and within the scope of licensure.
  • Provide basic patient care and treatments, including wound dressing, catheterization, and applying compresses.
  • Collect, label, and process specimens accurately, ensuring timely and reliable results.
  • Clean and prepare medical treatment rooms for patient visits, maintaining a safe and hygienic environment.
  • Assemble and use equipment appropriate to specific medical practices, ensuring proper usage and maintenance.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments for patients as needed, ensuring seamless care coordination.
  • Communicate delays effectively when necessary, maintaining open and transparent communication with patients and colleagues.
  • Enter patient information into the electronic medical record accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring data integrity and compliance.
  • Manage the physician's work environment, maintaining a productive and efficient workspace.
  • Provide clerical support to patients, including making appointments, booking procedures, obtaining pre-authorizations, and answering telephones.
  • Manage medical inventory and supply ordering based on par levels, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement.
