The Emerson Hospital is currently seeking a compassionate Clinical Social Worker to provide family assessment, support, and intervention for psychiatric and addictions inpatients. The role involves coordinating disposition plans and making necessary aftercare referrals for patients. Additionally, the Clinical Social Worker may offer clinical supervision to students if appropriately licensed, operating under the supervision of the Manager of Operations, Behavioral Health Services, and ensuring the social services provided meet the needs of the patient and their family within the Interdisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:- Family Assessment and Intervention: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' and their families' needs, providing support and intervention to address psychiatric and addiction-related issues.
- Disposition Planning and Aftercare Referrals: Coordinate disposition plans and make necessary aftercare referrals for patients, ensuring a smooth transition to ongoing care.
- Clinical Supervision: Offer clinical supervision to students if appropriately licensed, providing guidance and support to enhance their clinical skills.
- Education: Master's in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited graduate school of social work required.
- Experience: 2 years of experience in clinical social work practice required, which can include appropriately related fieldwork.
- Licensure and/or Certification: LICSW preferred, BLS healthcare provider required, LCSW required, and CPI required within 3 months of hire.
- Skills: Competence and experience in clinical practice, ability to conduct and document Psychosocial Assessments, knowledge of psychiatric terminology, DSM IV criteria, basics of Psycho-pharmacology, knowledge of requirements for mandated reporting, and of hospital and community policies and resources, communication skills, computer skills, and ability to maintain confidential information.
