Job Title: Diesel Mechanic Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Mechanic Technician to join our team at Ryder System. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical and electronic problems, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our heavy-duty vehicles.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform standard vehicle maintenance and repairs, including oil changes, brake and tire work
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer tools
  • Complete detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
  • Replace defective components as instructed
  • Work unsupervised on most tasks and interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints
  • Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available
  • Work in accordance with all federal and corporate compliance guidelines
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certification or post-secondary degree preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • Three years or more relevant work experience preferred
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
  • All other certification as required by location
