  • Monitor and Evaluate Student Progress: Regularly assess student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as necessary to ensure optimal learning outcomes.

  • Communicate with Parents/Guardians: Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress and IEP goals.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Certification: Valid South Carolina state certification in Special Education.
  • Experience: Experience working with students with disabilities in a school environment.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and effective teaching practices; excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.

Preferred Skills:

  • Behavior Management Techniques: Proficiency in behavior management techniques and positive behavior support strategies.
  • Additional Certifications: Additional certifications or endorsements in specific areas of special education (e.g., autism spectrum disorders, emotional/behavioral disorders).
