Job Title: Production Machinist

SpaceX is a pioneering company that aims to make humanity a multi-planetary species. As a Production Machinist, you will play a crucial role in manufacturing and developing key technologies for our Starlink program.

Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate multi-axis CNC machines to manufacture micron-level tolerance parts at production volumes.
  • Maintain maximum machine uptime by troubleshooting off-nominal issues, repairing tooling, and adhering to best practices.
  • Independently troubleshoot uncommon process issues related to ultra-precision part conformance.
  • Complete machining operations from blueprints, drawings, and/or verbal instructions.
  • Work with complex, tight-tolerance parts and various materials.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • 5+ years of experience with g-code, setup, operation, and/or programming of CNC mills/lathes.
  • Preferred skills and experience include horizontal mill setup, vertical mill setup, pallet systems, CNC programming using NX, diamond turning, and working with micron-level tolerance parts.
Additional Requirements:
  • Must be available to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods (8 hours minimum).
  • Ability to stoop, bend, crawl, and maneuver in tight spaces.
  • Ability to work in an environment with repetitive movement, bending, or twisting, using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls, exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting.
Compensation and Benefits:

Base salary is $40.00/hour for Production Machinist/Level 4 and $45.00/hour for Production Machinist/Level 5. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, access to a 401(k) retirement plan, short and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, paid parental leave, and various other discounts and perks.

You may also accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation and will be eligible for 10 or more paid holidays per year. Non-exempt Washington employees are eligible for sick leave in accordance with Washington's Sick Leave policies.
