Position Overview
As a vital member of our healthcare team, the Radiologic Nuclear Medicine Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality imaging services that aid in patient diagnosis and treatment.
Department: Nuclear Medicine
Schedule: PRN, Day Shift
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:
- Conduct therapeutic and diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring the production of clear and accurate images for interpretation by medical professionals.
- Utilize specialized equipment to detect and visualize radioactive substances within patients' bodies.
- Accurately position patients and select appropriate technical parameters for imaging.
- Manage the ordering, preparation, administration, and disposal of radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with established safety protocols.
- Adhere to radiation safety guidelines to protect both patients and staff.
- Ensure timely submission of high-quality images and documentation to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
- Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment, reporting any malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
- Contribute to a clean and organized work environment within the department.
Qualifications:
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- Current BLS Provider certification required within three months of hire.
- Certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist or Radiologic Technologist with a specialization in Nuclear Medicine is required within three months of hire.
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent with two years of relevant experience, or an Associate's/Technical degree, or four years of applicable experience.
