Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CT Technologist to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of radiologic procedures at a technical level, assuming responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional patient care while undergoing CT and diagnostic imaging exams.
  • Inform and educate patients on the details and expectations of their procedure.
  • Maintain knowledge and competency to perform diagnostic exams on multi-slice CT scanners on all patient populations.
  • Facilitate patient flow, prioritizing and managing patients as needed, including inpatients, emergency room patients, and urgent outpatients from doctors' offices.
  • Consistently produce diagnostic-quality radiographs by using proper technical factors and patient positioning.
  • Complete all paperwork and patient documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Effectively communicate with team members and other departments to maximize excellent patient care.
  • Operate all equipment according to manufacturers' specifications and under ALARA radiation guidelines.
  • Follow all procedures for safe patient interactions and body mechanics.
  • Meet performance expectations for Customer Service, Teamwork, Resource Utilization, and Staff and Self-Development as outlined in performance reviews.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed to ensure smooth operation of the department/unit.
Qualifications
  • High school degree or equivalent required.
  • Must have satisfactorily completed a formal radiologic technology training program in an approved school and meets requirements for registry by the ARRT.
  • One to two years of experience in a CT department preferred.
  • Previous radiographic experience required.
  • Must hold a current Connecticut State license in Radiologic Technology or obtain licensure as soon as they become registered.
  • ARRT RT and CT required.
  • BLS required.
Special Skills
  • Cross-training program applicants will have 12 months to acquire the advanced CT certification after completion of all competencies deemed necessary for the program.
  • Incumbent must be willing to work all shifts and weekends.
