Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to facilitate the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures in our Labor and Delivery department. As a Surgical Technologist with Ascension, you will be responsible for preparing the surgical operating suite, handing instruments to surgeons during surgery, and maintaining instruments in an organized manner.

About the Role:

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare surgical operating suite with sterile drapes and solutions, as well as appropriate sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
  • Hand required/requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.
  • Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitor/track instrument count throughout procedures.
  • Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients.

Requirements:

  • Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
