About the Role:

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support to our veterinary team. Your primary duties will include:

  • Recording and delivering organized rounds, discussing cases and gathering additional information as necessary
  • Evaluating incoming patients and prioritizing based on assessment
  • Partnering with the patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication, and nursing care concerns
  • Providing client education, including home care instructions, medications, and general wellness updates on hospitalized patients
  • Assisting the DVM with patient assessment, treatment, and procedures
  • Providing monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients
  • Inducing and monitoring general anesthesia and sedation procedures
  • Performing in-house laboratory testing and preparing samples for outside laboratory testing
Requirements:
  • Prior veterinary experience required, previous emergency experience desired
  • Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
  • Flexibility with work hours and ability to work additional hours when necessary
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
