The Physician will play a crucial role in delivering thorough and comprehensive medical care to a diverse patient population. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, diagnosing, treating, and coordinating patient care, as well as implementing preventive health measures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather comprehensive medical, social, and developmental histories from patients.
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and administer immunizations.
- Formulate and manage treatment plans for both acute and chronic conditions.
- Provide health education and counseling, promoting preventive healthcare practices.
- Prescribe medications and delegate immunization responsibilities to clinical support staff as permitted by applicable guidelines.
- Initiate necessary laboratory, radiology, and pathology tests, along with specialty referrals.
- Review incoming reports promptly and follow up as needed.
- Utilize clinical judgment to prioritize medical care and consult with specialists for complex cases.
- Collaborate with department leadership to implement clinical policies and ensure high-quality medical care.
- Oversee and mentor assigned advanced practice providers, including physician assistants and nurse practitioners.
- Assist in the training and orientation of new healthcare providers and support staff.
- Promote a collaborative and professional environment among all team members.
- Maintain active licensure in New York and adhere to all regulatory requirements for medical practice.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Engage in case management alongside other healthcare professionals.
Qualifications:
- Medical Degree (M.D. or D.O.)
- Active medical license in New York
- Board Certification in Internal Medicine
- Current DEA license
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative clinical team
- Demonstrated professionalism and ethical conduct
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Patient-centered approach with a commitment to compassionate care
- Proficient in computer systems and electronic medical records (EMR)
Compensation: The compensation range for this position is between $200,000 and $300,000, determined by various factors including experience, performance, and quality metrics.
