We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Specialist to join our team at AdventHealth Ottawa. As a key member of our patient access department, you will play a critical role in ensuring seamless patient registration and access to our healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities- Proactively register patients for all service lines, ensuring accurate and timely registration.
- Verify patient eligibility, obtain pre-certifications and authorizations, and make financial arrangements as needed.
- Process payments for services, clear registration errors, and edit pre-bills in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain close working relationships with clinical partners to ensure open communication and collaboration.
- Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers, ensuring a positive patient experience.
- High school graduate or equivalent required; associate's degree or one year of relevant healthcare experience preferred.
- One year of customer service experience and one year of direct patient access experience preferred.
- Ability to learn and perform multiple tasks, organize work systematically, and communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to adapt to changing healthcare environments and follow complex instructions and procedures with attention to detail.
