Job Summary

By Light Professional IT Services is seeking a highly skilled IT Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our technical staff, you will be responsible for designing and implementing Windows and Linux server and workstation technologies, as well as implementing enterprise-level services such as domain services, SYSLOG, DHCP, and AAA services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement Windows and Linux server and workstation technologies
  • Implement enterprise-level services, including domain services, SYSLOG, DHCP, and AAA services
  • Automate system data processing according to overarching data management policies
  • Periodically generate scripts in support of specific use cases
  • Identify and resolve system faults, including domain controller replication faults, SQL database access faults, and WSUS processing faults
  • Harden systems as appropriate, balancing customer Availability/Integrity/Confidentiality needs
  • Resolve IAVA/STIG findings as appropriate, providing proper documentation and/or justification to A&A personnel
  • Conduct site surveys to determine feasibility of equipment installations
  • Monitor overall system health and advise on need for potential upgrades or reconfigurations
  • Provide on-site technical and operational support in the installation and operation of any/all telecommunications equipment
  • Periodically review SIEM alerts as they relate to overall system status
  • Perform troubleshooting of end user problems and respond to user requests
  • Mentor other IT personnel as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Must meet DoD 8570 IAT II requirements
  • Security+ certification or ability to obtain within six (6) months of employment
  • Proven shell-scripting experience
  • Expert understanding of Windows and/or Linux server technologies
  • Competency with virtualization technologies
  • Expert understanding of networking protocols

Security Clearance:

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance required

Salary Range:

Salary Minimum: $120,000

Salary Mid: $135,000

Salary Maximum: $150,000

The annual base salary provided is a guideline for this position and is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. By Light also considers other variables such as (but not limited to) work experience, education, training, skill set, internal peer equity, clearance level and market conditions when extending an offer.
