Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled System Safety Specialist to join our team at Belcan. As a System Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for system safety analysis of military weapon systems.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in risk assessments and resolution, as well as mishap investigations.
- Apply system safety engineering principles to develop safety documentation in accordance with MIL-STD-882E.
- Develop, review, update, and approve system safety artifacts and system safety requirements.
- Read and interpret electrical circuit schematics.
- Implement and test software safety requirements.
- Familiarity with military system safety and process standards, such as MIL-STD-882, RCC 319, AFSPCMAN 91-710, ASTM, ANSI, NEC, AFOSH, AOP-52, JOTP-051, PESHE, NFPA.
- Knowledge of System Safety Incident Investigation process.
Requirements:
- BS in Electrical Engineering or relevant degree with 9 years of relevant/related experience, or MS in Electrical Engineering or relevant degree with 7 years of relevant/related experience.
- Demonstrated ability in the application of MIL-STD-882E to analyze, recommend, and drive safety into system design, equipment, and procedures.
- Experience documenting hazards with a closed-loop Hazard Tracking System (HTS).
- Familiarity with electrical circuit design.
- Active DoD Security Clearance (investigation completed within the last 5 years).
