We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Barista to join our team at Smith's Food and Drug. As a Barista, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service in a safe and clean environment, ensuring a positive experience for our customers.

• Create a welcoming environment for customers, answering questions about products and services.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold in the department, responding to customer inquiries and making suggestions.
• Collaborate with associates to achieve company/store goals, promoting teamwork and a positive work environment.
• Prepare beverage selections to recipe and standards, using proper equipment and tendering transactions according to company best practices.
• Offer product samples to customers, informing them of coffee shop specials and recommending items to ensure they get what they want and need.
• Provide customers with fresh products, checking product quality and reviewing sell by dates to prevent shrink.
• Use all equipment in the coffee shop according to company guidelines, preparing, packaging, labeling, and inventorying ingredients.
• Check product quality, reviewing sell by dates and taking appropriate action to ensure freshness.
• Properly use kitchen equipment, espresso machine, blender, computerized scale, and steamer.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise, reporting product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads, reinforcing safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions.
• Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notifying the appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents, reporting all safety risks, issues, or illegal activity to store management.

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Any previous comparable experience.
