About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC & Plumbing Specialist to join our team at the U.S. Navy. As a Hull Maintenance Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and safety of our ships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair valves, plumbing fixtures, and piping systems on board our ships.
  • Perform metal work to repair and maintain shipboard structures and surfaces, including welding, brazing, riveting, and caulking.
  • Inspect and test welds and other shipboard structures to ensure they meet safety and quality standards.
  • Operate radiological, ultrasonic, and magnetic particle testing equipment to detect defects and anomalies in shipboard materials.
  • Heat treat and craft metals such as aluminum, steel, copper, brass, and iron to repair and maintain shipboard systems.
  • Cut and assemble pipes to ensure proper fit and function.
  • Repair ventilation ducts, insulation, and lagging to maintain a safe and healthy environment on board.
  • Repair metal, wood, and fiberglass boats to ensure they are seaworthy and safe for use.
  • Operate and maintain ballast control systems to ensure the stability and balance of our ships.
  • Manage the Quality Assurance Program to ensure that all work meets safety and quality standards.
  • Enforce safety and security procedures to protect personnel and assets.
  • Prepare records and reports to document work completed and ensure compliance with regulations.
Requirements
  • Be a U.S. citizen or green card holder.
  • Have basic English language skills.
  • Hold a high school diploma or equivalent, with higher education preferred but not required.
