Description: The Admissions Specialist is a dynamic role requiring a motivated individual who excels in communication and marketing strategies for the University. This position plays a crucial part in enhancing the University’s visibility and effectiveness within the community. Responsibilities include forming strategic partnerships with local high schools and organizations to cultivate a diverse pool of prospective students aligned with the College's objectives for enrollment growth. The role encompasses identifying potential students and devising, executing, and assessing recruitment strategies to attract and enroll them successfully. Candidates should possess 1-2 years of recruitment experience, ideally within a higher education context, demonstrating the ability to research, develop, and implement effective recruitment initiatives.

Traveling at least 75% of the time is essential, with flexibility to work extended hours and weekends during peak recruitment periods.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1-2 years of experience in college recruitment preferred
  • Bilingual – Spanish preferred.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in coordinating campus-wide recruitment initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Recruitment and Admissions, the Registrar, and Academic Division Chairs to formulate recruitment strategies.
  • Contribute to the creation of recruitment materials.
  • Gather and disseminate information regarding educational opportunities to students.
  • Help coordinate admissions-sponsored events on campus.
  • Travel to high schools, colleges, and community events to recruit students. A valid driver's license is required.
  • Maintain the prospect/applicant database.
  • Facilitate college entry by collecting admissions applications and conducting small group orientations.
  • Provide guidance to prospective students regarding admissions requirements.
  • Assist with orientation and registration activities.
  • Support students in planning and scheduling their academic programs.
  • Review application materials and make admission decisions.
  • Develop and maintain communication with students, parents, alumni, and institutional representatives.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Understanding of college programs, admissions processes, financial aid, and community resources.
  • Strong decision-making, oral and written communication skills, and leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to present programs to diverse groups and build rapport with various stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work independently and utilize technology effectively in recruitment efforts.
