Automotive Service Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Motors Master Certified Technician to join our team at Newton Chevrolet GMC. As a key member of our Service Department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our customers' vehicles.
Key Responsibilities- Perform diagnostics, inspections, maintenance, and repairs on vehicles, including General Motors vehicles, according to manufacturer specifications, warranty guidelines, and dealership standards.
- Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and special service equipment to test components and identify issues with automotive systems.
- Complete repairs accurately and efficiently, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintain detailed records of all services performed, including parts used, labor hours, and diagnostic findings.
- Communicate effectively with Service Advisors and customers to explain repair recommendations, answer questions, and provide exceptional customer service.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest General Motors technologies, service procedures, and diagnostic techniques through ongoing training and certification.
- Collaborate with other team members to achieve departmental goals and deliver exceptional service experiences for our customers.
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of automotive technical training program preferred.
- Current certification as a GM Master Certified Technician or equivalent ASE certification in relevant areas.
- Minimum of three years of experience as an automotive technician, with a focus on General Motors vehicles preferred.
- Strong teamwork skills and proficiency in operating diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and repair complex automotive issues.
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to read and comprehend written instructions and guidelines.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
