Overview
The Senior Engineer for Enterprise Systems is tasked with the analysis, development, modification, installation, testing, and maintenance of systems software and hardware.

This role requires a robust understanding of systems engineering, graphical user interfaces, and control mechanisms. You will evaluate vendor-supplied software packages for compatibility and performance, making recommendations to IT management. Additionally, you will modify and debug vendor-supplied utilities and packages, as well as prepare technical documentation for telecommunications, network, and system software applications.

Your responsibilities will also include diagnosing, isolating, and resolving software issues, monitoring system capacity and performance, and providing Tier 2 technical support.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop new systems and maintain existing systems as necessary.
  • Provide technical guidance in planning and executing assigned projects.
  • Perform system repairs and oversee periodic inspection processes.
  • Participate in project analysis, design, implementation, and commissioning phases.
  • Prepare user requirements, technical specifications, design specifications, and commissioning plans.
  • Support system acceptance testing and validation activities.
  • Review and recommend enhancements to existing system designs.
  • Analyze project requirements and provide technical and functional recommendations.
  • Evaluate existing engineering processes and suggest improvements.
  • Recommend new technologies to enhance system performance and reliability.
  • Conduct system failure analysis and propose corrective actions.
  • Monitor system capacity and performance, providing Tier 2 technical support.
  • Serve as a technical resource for infrastructure initiatives.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to team members and peers.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical communications and network issues (Tier 2 support).
  • Contribute to supplier management to oversee telecommunications and network-related vendor service level agreements.
  • Stay informed on telecommunications, networks, and related technologies.
  • Act as a technical resource for infrastructure initiatives requiring telecommunications or network expertise.
  • Mentor junior engineers and team members.

Qualifications
  • Proficient in remote server management and design concepts.
  • Experience with scripting languages, particularly PowerShell.
  • Knowledge of network components (WAN and LAN).
  • Familiarity with network routing.
  • Working knowledge of storage and data protection technologies.
  • Competent in SQL.
  • Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible.

  • Proficient in creating, reading, analyzing, and interpreting technical diagrams and procedures.
  • Ability to organize processes or data according to policies, processes, or system requirements.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience in a Microsoft Windows environment with over 300 production servers.
  • 2+ years of engineering experience in a Linux operating system environment.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting VMware Virtual Infrastructures.
  • 5+ years of experience with server hardware platforms such as Cisco UCS, Dell, HP.
  • 1+ years of experience with cloud infrastructures such as Azure, AWS.
  • 1+ years of scripting experience, particularly with PowerShell.
