Job Overview

Wholesale Produce Supply, LLC is a dynamic regional distributor of fresh produce, looking for a skilled Quality & Inventory Specialist to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular quality assessments and inventory audits on incoming and outgoing goods to ensure adherence to quality benchmarks and inventory precision, while identifying any discrepancies or potential challenges.
  • Establish and execute quality assurance protocols to reduce defects, enhance consistency, and improve operational processes.
  • Oversee inventory levels and work closely with procurement and production teams to maintain sufficient stock, prevent shortages, and minimize surplus inventory.
  • Collaborate with Commodity Managers and fellow Quality & Inventory Specialists to resolve quality issues, facilitate product returns, and manage the replacement or repair of defective items.
  • Generate reports on inventory performance, recognize patterns, and suggest strategies for enhancement.
  • Analyze quality control data, identify trends, and recommend action plans for improvement.
  • Work with cross-departmental teams to optimize quality and inventory management practices and implement industry best practices.
  • Maintain thorough and current documentation related to quality assurance and inventory oversight.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards related to quality management.
  • Assist with additional responsibilities as needed.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend shifts.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in inventory oversight and quality inspection within a perishable goods environment.
  • Proficient in inventory management software and strong computer skills, including MS Office.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management abilities, with a knack for multitasking and prioritizing effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication capabilities.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-focused setting.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and standards.
  • Must possess authorization to work in the United States without restrictions.

Physical Requirements:

  • Capability to lift heavy items and remain standing for extended periods.
  • Ability to perform moderate lifting (up to 50 lbs.) and utilize ladders and other warehouse equipment.
  • Capacity to stand, move, and bend throughout the entire shift.
  • Ability to reach overhead.
  • Ability to work in a cold environment for full shifts.
