Kelly Science, Engineering, Technology & Telecom is seeking a Molecular Biology Scientist II for a prominent client in the biotechnology sector.

  • Compensation: $42/hr
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM
  • Contract Duration: 12 months (possibility of extension or conversion)

Key Responsibilities:


• Conduct training on novel assays.


• Execute experiments pertinent to clinical research.


• Present findings to team members.

Qualifications:


Education:

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from an accredited institution.


Experience:

• At least 3-5 years of hands-on experience in laboratory testing relevant to the specialties of the Life Technologies Clinical Services Lab.


• Proven laboratory experience with a wide range of molecular biology techniques.


• Strong capability in complex data analysis.


• Proficiency in next-generation sequencing is essential, with a preference for familiarity with Ion Torrent technology.

Skills and Abilities:


• Proficient in using computer systems for data entry, retrieval, and analysis, including word processing and spreadsheet applications.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


• Ability to tackle complex analytical problems.


• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.


• Comprehensive understanding of good laboratory practices and regulatory compliance.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment:


• May involve handling infectious agents and hazardous materials.


• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while using laboratory equipment and performing computer tasks.


• Capable of stretching, bending, or twisting to access storage areas.


• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.


• Visual acuity to differentiate colors for analysis and auditory skills to monitor equipment timers.


• Fine motor skills required for operating equipment and handling specimens.


• Primarily laboratory-based work with some responsibilities in office settings for documentation and procedural writing.
