We are seeking a highly motivated and responsible Bus Associate-Special Education to join our team at the Fort Madison Community School District.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the safe loading and unloading of pupils at their bus stop
  • Manage pupils' physical needs during transit
  • Manage pupils' behavior during transit
  • Assist the driver to ensure safety, welfare, and orderly conduct of passengers while on the bus
  • Provide a positive role model for students
  • Maintain confidentiality on sensitive information
  • Maintain a high standard of student conduct at all times
  • Assist the driver in keeping the bus clean and inspecting for damages and repairs daily

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to take charge in emergency situations
