Job Title: Watercraft Inspector

The Watercraft Inspector position plays a crucial role in protecting Minnesota's waters from ecologically harmful aquatic invasive species (AIS). Inspectors will undergo training on MN DNR protocols and conduct thorough inspections of watercraft at multiple lakes throughout Ramsey County.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Educate the public on the AIS program and current issues
  • Inspect watercraft for invasive species (inbound and outbound)
  • Conduct verbal surveys
  • Document inspection activities
  • Maintain current knowledge of best practices while inspecting watercraft
Requirements:
  • Verbal communication and customer relations experience
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks in a professional manner
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various Minnesota weather conditions
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays
  • Ability to walk, stand, and move about the boat launch area to a significant degree
