Recreational Therapist II

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Recreational Therapist II to join our team at the Hogan Regional Center in Danvers, MA. As a member of our interdisciplinary clinical treatment team, you will play a critical role in delivering Therapeutic Recreation services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, organize, and instruct individuals through participation in individual and group leisure activities tailored to their needs and capabilities.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Recreation Therapy programs, including monitoring programs and data collection, providing on-site supervision, and participating in planning committees.
- Coordinate and monitor the implementation of Recreation Therapy services through the interdisciplinary team process, analyzing data to determine program effectiveness and recommending modifications as needed.
- Evaluate individuals' needs for Recreation Therapy Services through skill assessment, survey of interest, direct observation, and examination of individual records.
- Develop and implement treatment plans and programs, designing recreational activities to achieve individual-specific objectives and needs.
- Conduct training and consultation to staff and families, participate in committees, staff meetings, and professional development workshops to ensure quality services are provided.
- Report and document individual progress and service delivery, adhering to unit, facility, and department policies and procedures.
- Three years of full-time or equivalent part-time experience in planning, organizing, instituting, or conducting therapeutic recreation services in a recognized public or private agency.
- One year of professional experience in a therapeutic recreation setting.
- A Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Recreation Education, Creative Arts Therapy, or Therapeutic Recreation may be substituted for two years of experience.
- A Master's degree or higher in a related field may be substituted for the required experience.
- Current and valid Massachusetts Class D Motor Vehicle Operator's license.
- CTRS Certification (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Therapist).
- Talent for recognizing cultural diversity and ensuring sensitive and equitable treatment for all.
- Experience working in a long-term care facility.
