Role Summary:
We are in search of a highly qualified and experienced Senior Electrochemical Engineer to contribute to our pioneering carbon-to-value initiatives. This position requires a collaborative mindset and the ability to engage in the full lifecycle of design to bring electrolyzer systems to market readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to innovate and refine both single and multi-cell electrolyzer assembly technologies.
  • Design, construct, and assess the performance of electrolyzer systems tailored for various industrial applications.
  • Communicate experimental findings effectively to a diverse team of professionals.
  • Conduct techno-economic assessments to enhance cost-effectiveness during the prototype phase.
  • Establish and enforce safety protocols and operational procedures for chemical handling and risk management.
  • Utilize electroanalytical methods such as impedance spectroscopy, voltammetry, and accelerated aging studies.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (Ph.D. or M.S.) in chemical, mechanical, or electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of four years of experience with electrolyzer or fuel cell systems.
  • Hands-on experience in the design, construction, or performance evaluation of electrolyzer or fuel cell technologies.
  • Strong ability to articulate complex scientific concepts and collaborate with team members from varied backgrounds.
  • Proven experience in developing safety protocols and managing chemical hazards.
  • Experience in performing techno-economic evaluations and identifying viable solutions for optimizing electrolyzer assembly performance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise in electrode fabrication and performance enhancement.
  • Familiarity with metal deposition techniques and lithography methods.
  • Proficiency in modeling software such as MATLAB, Python, and COMSOL for analyzing electrolytic systems.
  • Solid mechanical skills and experience with gas handling systems.
  • Prior experience in early-stage technology startups.
