Role Summary:
We are in search of a highly qualified and experienced Senior Electrochemical Engineer to contribute to our pioneering carbon-to-value initiatives. This position requires a collaborative mindset and the ability to engage in the full lifecycle of design to bring electrolyzer systems to market readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to innovate and refine both single and multi-cell electrolyzer assembly technologies.
- Design, construct, and assess the performance of electrolyzer systems tailored for various industrial applications.
- Communicate experimental findings effectively to a diverse team of professionals.
- Conduct techno-economic assessments to enhance cost-effectiveness during the prototype phase.
- Establish and enforce safety protocols and operational procedures for chemical handling and risk management.
- Utilize electroanalytical methods such as impedance spectroscopy, voltammetry, and accelerated aging studies.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (Ph.D. or M.S.) in chemical, mechanical, or electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of four years of experience with electrolyzer or fuel cell systems.
- Hands-on experience in the design, construction, or performance evaluation of electrolyzer or fuel cell technologies.
- Strong ability to articulate complex scientific concepts and collaborate with team members from varied backgrounds.
- Proven experience in developing safety protocols and managing chemical hazards.
- Experience in performing techno-economic evaluations and identifying viable solutions for optimizing electrolyzer assembly performance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expertise in electrode fabrication and performance enhancement.
- Familiarity with metal deposition techniques and lithography methods.
- Proficiency in modeling software such as MATLAB, Python, and COMSOL for analyzing electrolytic systems.
- Solid mechanical skills and experience with gas handling systems.
- Prior experience in early-stage technology startups.
