Job Title: Sr Principal Software Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr Principal Software Engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman Space Systems - Launch and Missile Defense Systems. This position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO.

Job Summary:

The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. As a Sr Principal Software Engineer, you will be responsible for integrating separate software components into a single system, reading and troubleshooting application source codes, and working in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Installation and configuration of Linux and Windows HW platforms from the OS to the C2BMC-developed applications.
  • Documentation and verification of all installation and configuration steps in the documentation to be delivered to the customer.
  • Develop installation scripts to automate the system installation.
  • Develop test plans/procedures for conducting software integration tests.
  • Responsible for integration/execution, detailed data analysis, and preparation of software test reports.
  • Coordinate the execution of SW integration tests to verify system operation.
  • Work with software developers as needed to help diagnose and identify the root cause of problems found during software integration.
  • Submit problem reports for errors found.
  • Responsible for implementing all system Information Assurance directives, including running IA scans.
  • Task and coordinate daily integration activities with other local team members.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline preferred from an accredited university and 9 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree and 7 years of related experience, or 4 years of experience with a PhD, or 13 years of experience in lieu of the degree.
  • Must possess a DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA).
  • Must have hands-on experience with DoD integration processes, Agile and DevOps methodologies, and automated test tools.
  • Must have experience integrating complex Windows and Unix/Linux applications.
  • Must have Linux and Windows system administration, including installing and configuring systems from the OS level up.
  • Must have VMWare systems administration and installation.
  • Must have Information Assurance policies and procedures and the ability to apply IA requirements to an existing system.
  • Must have PowerShell/Bash/Korn scripting languages (developing, debugging, and maintaining).
  • Good communication skills to establish and maintain good working relationships with software developers, system administrators, and analysis and test engineers.
  • Must write precise, concise system installation and configuration instructions.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 10% to support business needs.
