Grooming Technician

This role is responsible for enrolling and completing the Paragon training program, a 15-week virtual learning experience that teaches the fundamentals of bathing and grooming, as well as safety, pet first aid, and CPR. The successful candidate will be able to work with dogs and cats, demonstrate patience and compassion, and maintain a safe and clean environment.

• Enroll and complete the Paragon training program within the required timeline
• Perform a combination of bathing, drying, brushing, and combing tasks for various coat types
• Trim nails, clean ears, and prepare hair for trimming
• Use basic clipper techniques and finishing techniques to achieve a high-quality finish
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional demeanor
• Ensure the safety and well-being of animals, including inspecting for external signs of parasites, disease, or injury
• Sanitize and maintain grooming tools and equipment to prevent the spread of disease
• Assist in generating business by calling customers, scheduling appointments, and verifying vaccinations
• Maintain accurate records of pet clients, including services provided and vaccination records

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Ability to work with dogs and cats, demonstrating patience and compassion
• Must provide own tools (clippers, blades, shears) or be willing to purchase required tools
• Basic computer skills and ability to operate store equipment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with moderate noise levels. Exposure to sharp grooming instruments, perfumed shampoos and soaps, pets, and pet waste is expected. Ability to stand for up to 8 hours and move frequently around the salon is required.
