About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our team at MaineHealth. As a key member of our Central Sterile Services department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient care by processing and sterilizing medical instruments.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the decontamination and instrument processing functions across all areas of the organization.
- Participate in the distribution of instrumentation and specified equipment to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
- Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a professional demeanor in all interactions.
- Collaborate with the team to achieve a positive and productive work environment.
- Participate in on-call duties and respond promptly to requests within one hour.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and medical terminology.
- Current certification as a CRCST with the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management or certification within 24 months of employment.
- Desirable experience in Central Processing, Surgical Technician, or Nursing Assistant roles.
- Ability to work independently, following established standards, practices, and procedures.
- Capacity to retain detailed technical information and perform in a dynamic environment.
