Job Summary:

At ZIP-PAK, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Extruder Operator - Quality Control to join our production team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and productivity of our products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Control:
    • Ensure proper equipment setup and calibration
    • Perform and record quality checks to ensure compliance with quality specifications
    • Communicate troubleshooting efforts with team members and supervision
    • Assure proper quantities are run to minimize waste and excess inventory
  • Changeovers and Line Cleaning:
    • Perform line changeovers and cleaning to maintain production efficiency
    • Perform preventative maintenance tasks as required
  • Packaging and Labeling:
    • Properly box and label products for distribution
    • Ensure accurate and legible product identification
    • Utilize correct pallet configuration to optimize storage and shipping
  • Safety and Housekeeping:
    • Understand and observe all safety precautions, rules, and regulations
    • Understand and observe all HACCP and SQF regulations
    • Keep the area around the production line clean and organized
    • Report any safety hazards to supervision
  • Paperwork and Administration:
    • Complete all required paperwork properly and legibly
  • Teamwork and Collaboration:
    • Assist other operators with spool handling and changeovers
    • Participate in task forces and committees as requested

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-2 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
