Job Summary

Battelle is seeking a talented Reverse Engineer/Vulnerability Researcher to join our team in Columbus, OH. As a key member of our cybersecurity team, you will be responsible for conducting research and analysis to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities in computer systems and networks.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct reverse engineering and vulnerability research to identify and analyze potential security threats
  • Develop and implement software solutions to mitigate vulnerabilities and improve system security
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement secure computer systems and networks
  • Analyze and interpret technical data to determine appropriate limits and variables for electrical/electronic systems, components, equipment, and networks
  • Assist in the interpretation of results and writing of technical reports
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field of study
  • Experience with software development and testing, including coding in C or C++ and using scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Ruby
  • Knowledge of computer systems architecture, including boot processes and OS internals
  • Experience with disassemblers, debuggers, and fuzzers
  • Ability to analyze assembly-level code on multiple platforms and understand network protocols
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Participation in Capture the Flag (CTF) competitions
  • Experience with symbolic analysis and network protocol analysis
  • Background in software engineering and architecture
  • Active Secret security clearance
