About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our team at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, procuring, constructing, and operating new and replacement test facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop fluid-mechanical systems and hardware, including ASME code calculations and equipment selection.
  • Redesign existing spaces and support construction and operations teams to implement changes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver one-of-a-kind testing systems that meet the needs of the Naval Reactors program.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, or Master's degree with 7 years of relevant experience.
  • 9 years of relevant experience in industry, with a focus on pressure equipment, ASME B31 series, and fluid/mechanical system design and operations.
  • Experience using CAD software packages to evaluate design suitability.
  • Previous work supporting test facilities and infrastructure, including electro-mechanical devices and construction experience.
