ReqOverflow is seeking a highly skilled Lead Respiratory Therapist to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Lead Respiratory Therapist will coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department. As a vital part of the patient care team, the Lead Respiratory Therapist will perform a variety of diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures and monitor patients receiving invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
  • Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitor patient for therapeutic response and notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
  • Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations.
Requirements:
  • State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Associate Degree
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • NRP - Neonate Resuscitation must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
  • 5 years of RRT experience Required Experience doesn't have to be acute, LTAC or other settings.
