Job Summary

The Department of Veteran Affairs is seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Nuclear Medicine Radiologist to join our team at the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center in Aurora, CO.

This is a full-time board-certified position that requires expertise in interpreting PET/CT scans, nuclear cardiac imaging, and general nuclear medicine studies. The ideal candidate will have significant experience with lymphoscintigraphy injections and be board-certified in Nuclear Medicine or Radiology with nuclear medicine experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret and report nuclear medicine, PET/CT, SPECT/CT, and nuclear cardiology stress testing scans in a timely manner.
  • Provide nuclear medicine therapies as needed.
  • Interact with technologist staff to answer questions and obtain optimal imaging.
  • Review and protocol new routine, inpatient, and urgent incoming nuclear medicine orders.
  • Actively participate in the department's physician peer review process.
  • Fulfill all facility-wide required training in the online system (TMS) and face-to-face, as directed.
  • Act as an Authorized User for Service.
  • Participate in Tumor Boards and Morbidity & Mortality Conferences.
  • Contribute to the Service's Quality Control and Safety Plan.
  • Provide occasional teaching and training for medical trainees and house staff.
  • Interact with other services and providers to answer questions and prioritize services.
  • Participate in research and quality improvement activities, per workload and availability.
Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (Non-Citizen may be considered IAW VA Policy).
  • Must have a current, active, and unencumbered US State Medical License (any State).
  • Must be board-certified in Nuclear Medicine or Radiology with nuclear medicine experience.
  • Possess the capability to interpret examinations in other specialties, such as cross-sectional imaging, ultrasound, bone densitometry, or radiographs.
