About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Vascular Access Specialist RN to join our team. As a VAS RN, you will be responsible for selecting and inserting vascular access devices, caring for and maintaining those lines, and communicating with the patient care team to ensure seamless care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Select and insert vascular access devices, including peripheral catheters, arterial catheters, and central lines
  • Care for and maintain vascular access devices, troubleshooting and implementing interventions to reduce complications
  • Educate other healthcare professionals on vascular access procedures and best practices
  • Collaborate with the patient care team to ensure effective communication and seamless care
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and participate in QA/QI activities
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A current license to practice nursing in the state of Maine or a compact state
  • Peripheral I.V. experience preferred
  • Current BCLS and ACLS certification
  • Vascular Access Board Certification within 2 years of hire
  • Maintain minimum of 5 CEUs in vascular access annually and 30 CEUs every 3 years
  • Basic understanding of ECG interpretation
