We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Critical Care Physician to join our team at Ascension Health. As a Critical Care Physician, you will be responsible for evaluating and treating patients with complex medical conditions, providing high-quality patient care, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate and treat patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills.
- Recommend, participate in, and work to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
- Accept patient referrals from other physicians and act as admitting, attending, and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses.
- Participate in academic programs, such as medical education and research, as requested.
- Provide appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements and appeal all denials in a timely manner.
- Participate in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on-call schedules.
- Licensure/Certification/Registration: Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.
- Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
