We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at Piedmont Urgent Care by Wellstreet. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for and assist with examinations and treatments, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience.
  • Perform triage and obtain vital signs, using your clinical skills to assess patient needs.
  • Document patient history and medical interventions accurately and timely in our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
  • Collect and maintain patient and business documents, upholding confidentiality and data security standards.
  • Collect laboratory specimens, including phlebotomy, urinalysis, and oral swabs, with precision and care.
  • Administer medications and injections, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Perform various clinical, aseptic, and laboratory procedures, staying up-to-date with industry standards.
  • Train and assist with Occupational Medicine services, utilizing our EMR system and adhering to company protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulatory requirements, maintaining a high level of quality assurance.
  • Perform office procedures, including administrative duties, and operate medical equipment with ease.
  • Travel to various locations as needed, supporting our team's efforts to provide exceptional patient care.
Requirements:
  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant, LPN, EMT, RN, or X-Ray Technology program from an accredited institution.
  • One year of relevant healthcare experience, preferably in urgent care or emergency departments.
  • Proficiency in venipuncture and injections, with a strong understanding of clinical procedures, medical anatomy, and physiology.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays, with flexibility and adaptability.
  • Physical stamina to sit, walk, reach, and lift moderate weights, with finger dexterity and hand coordination.
  • Specific vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust or focus.
Licenses and Certifications:
  • BLS Certification (required)
  • XRAY Certification (preferred)
  • Medical Assistant Certification (preferred)
  • LPN or RN Certification (preferred)
