Radiation Oncology Therapist

About the Role
As a Radiation Therapy Technologist at UNC Lenoir Health Care, you will play a vital role in delivering accurate and effective radiotherapy treatments to patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality radiotherapy treatments using CT-Simulation and Ultrasound modalities
- Provide direct patient care services, ensuring a positive experience for patients and families
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination
- Perform duties in a manner that projects a positive image of the department and hospital
Requirements
- Graduate of an AMA or CAHE approved school of Radiation Therapy Technology
- Certified with American Registry of Radiological Technology for Radiation Therapy or registry eligible
- Basic dosimetry skills, good interpersonal and communication skills, and good organizational skills
Work Environment
Direct and indirect exposure to airborne and blood-borne pathogens and/or other potentially infectious diseases. Exposure to Cerro bend fumes and dark room chemicals. Stressful work periods. Limited exposure to radiation. Emergency callback rotation.
Physical Requirements
- Walking and standing throughout shift, lifting patients with assistance daily
- Speech, hearing, and sight required
- Digital dexterity required
- Lifting of cerrobend blocks up to 50 lbs
