Job Title: Cardiac Surgery Stepdown Nurse

Mass General Brigham is seeking a skilled Cardiac Surgery Stepdown Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Job Summary:

The Cardiac Surgery Stepdown Nurse will be responsible for providing care to patients on the Cardiac Surgery Intermediate Care Unit. This includes assessing patients' physical and emotional needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing procedures, and monitoring patients' vital signs.
  • Assess patients' physical and emotional needs, and develop and implement individualized care plans to meet those needs.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and therapists, to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and contribute to the development of patient care plans.
  • Document patient care and progress in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing with current registration in Massachusetts.
  • 1 year telemetry and cardiology experience required.
  • Current cardiac surgery, transplant, and VAD experience required.
  • Membership in professional organizations is recommended and certification in a specialty area is encouraged.
