ROLE OVERVIEW
The Assembler I position is an entry-level role responsible for performing repetitive assembly tasks to mass-produce items such as trusses and panels, including the following responsibilities:
- Aligning components according to specified relationships.
- Fastening parts using bolts, clips, screws, or adhesives.
- Cutting materials to precise measurements as required.
- Identifying and removing defective products.
- Operating machinery for fastening and assembly processes.
- Shifting between various workstations based on production needs.
- Adapting to changes in tasks as different product models are manufactured.
- Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
To succeed in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform essential duties effectively. The following qualifications are preferred:
- No specific educational background or prior experience is required.
- Previous carpentry experience is advantageous.
COMPETENCIES
Successful candidates will possess:
- The ability to read and understand simple instructions.
- Basic writing skills for correspondence.
- Effective verbal communication skills for presenting information in both individual and group settings.
- Basic arithmetic skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Proficiency in using a tape measure.
- Common sense reasoning to follow detailed instructions.
- The capability to address problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical requirements for this position include:
- Continuous standing and walking.
- Frequent use of hands for handling and manipulating materials.
- Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
While performing job duties, employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and varying weather conditions. Personal protective equipment is required, including ear plugs and eye protection.
