Salary InformationThe estimated salary range for this role is $153,636.00-$215,090.40 per year.
Job DescriptionThis position is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which focuses on developing Blue Origin's Blue Moon lander product lines. The team is building sustainable infrastructure for transporting crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface to support the company's mission.
Key Responsibilities:- Technical responsibility for the integrated Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C) system and its performance.
- Collaboration with NASA and National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program.
- Developing the New Lunar Vehicle that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond Earth.
The successful candidate will provide broad and deep GN&C domain expertise, lead technical design decisions, and collaborate with other subsystem teams to ensure vehicle performance requirements are met. This includes identifying, assessing, and mitigating GN&C subsystem risks, providing engineering leadership, and mentoring to coordinate design, analysis, and testing throughout development, verification, delivery, and operation.
Requirements and QualificationsTo be considered for this role, applicants must have:
- A Master's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or a related field, with at least 10 years of design experience.
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge in spacecraft GN&C systems development.
- Experience in full development lifecycle of GN&C subsystems on at least one aerospace program.
- Extensive experience in developing and analyzing GN&C algorithms and flight software.
- Experience in developing and testing navigation sensors and control actuators.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized and capable of guiding complex technical work.
- Ability to execute in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- U.S. citizenship, permanent residence, or refugee status.
