Crew Chief

As a Crew Chief - Team Lead at the Oakland Housing Authority, you will be responsible for leading a team of Building and Grounds Workers in cleaning and maintenance activities. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of Building and Grounds Workers to ensure that the Authority's grounds, yard areas, resident units, and office buildings are cleaned and maintained.
• Write daily work route schedules, assess maintenance needs, and determine appropriate staffing.
• Review work orders and direct the work of the team.
• Monitor attendance records and time cards, and write accident reports as needed.
• Inventory tools and equipment at the end of each work shift.
• Perform all the duties of a Grounds Worker when necessary.

Requirements:

• Two years of experience as a Building and Grounds Worker II at the Oakland Housing Authority, or equivalent experience outside the Authority.
• Valid California driver's license and an insurable driving record.
• Bilingual skills in Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, and/or Spanish are a plus.
