POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the general supervision of the Quality Manager, this role is pivotal in ensuring the effective execution of existing quality systems, with a focus on Statistical Process Control (SPC) and 8-D problem-solving methodologies. The incumbent will also recommend enhancements and support the adoption of new quality systems.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Conducts comprehensive internal audits of quality systems within the plant.
Maintains and oversees the documentation system for preventive and corrective actions related to quality.
Develops, evaluates, and administers quality assurance control and information systems, particularly in the realms of SPC and problem resolution. Aids in the execution of corporate and plant quality policies and procedures.
Provides instruction and support to plant personnel regarding SPC and 8-D methodologies.
Engages in Advanced Quality Planning (AQP) activities in collaboration with corporate, plant, and customer teams.
Initiates, reviews, and finalizes Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEAs) and control plans as necessary.
Collaborates with customers and suppliers during new product launches and addresses problem situations as needed.
Analyzes various quality metrics (M.O.S., C.O.Q., SPC, etc.), and prepares detailed summaries and reports for management.
Prepares Production Part Approval Process (P.P.A.P.) documentation.
Offers technical guidance on Design of Experiments (DOE), SPC, and 8-D preparation, and assists other departments in resolving issues. Maintains documentation to support Quality System requirements.
Prepares for and participates in customer evaluations.
Collaborates with internal stakeholders to provide knowledge, feedback, and training as required.
May require travel to tool shops, suppliers, and customers as necessary.
Performs other essential functions as required.
Possesses the authority to halt production in the event of quality concerns.
Has the authority to determine product disposition.
Updates, distributes, and manages the master parts list.
Controls documentation related to the production process book.
Requirements:
Proficient in computer applications. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent analytical and organizational abilities. Problem-solving skills and a people-oriented approach are essential. A four-year degree is preferred.
ASQC certification (CQE, CQA, or CRE) or four to six years of relevant experience and training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred. A minimum of three years of experience in a decision-making technical, professional, or management role is preferred. Familiarity with applying statistical methods in industrial contexts is also preferred.
