Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Logic Controls Engineer to join our team at Zobility, a leading workforce management and staffing division of RGBSI. As a Logic Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing complex control systems for machine tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop new, complex designs to meet project specifications.
  • Work with supervision to maintain project schedules, quality, and costs.
  • Support the development and maintenance of logic on all products.
  • Work directly with hardware engineering to develop CNC + PLC Logic.
  • Work directly with project engineering to develop CNC configurations and parameters.
  • Assist high-level programmers to develop interfaces to HMI's and front-end computers.
  • Assist Systems (Start-Up) Engineers in performing functional machine tests on the shop floor.
  • Document designs using the appropriate format to Ingersoll and/or customer standards as required by the project.
  • Debug software modules and systems also perform simulation checkout of systems.
  • Assist production personnel in applying software products.
  • Support Systems (Start-Up) Engineers in installing software at customer's site and assists customers in using software products.
  • Provide assistance to other functional organizations (Manufacturing, Assembly, and Customer Service) throughout the life of the project.
  • Has responsibility for testing and validation of designs.
  • Maintain technical competency and works to expand technical skills and knowledge.
  • Assists with other tasks as needed.
Requirements
  • Associate Degree or technical degree related to logic/controls engineering.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Demonstrated understanding of complex control system architectures and CNC motion control systems.
  • Ability to analyze the software requirements of complex control systems.
  • Experience with PLC programming platforms such as Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagram, STL, etc.
  • Knowledge of structured programming techniques and advanced data structures.
  • Knowledge of networking technology: familiarity with protocols such as Ethernet, Profibus, Profinet is desired.
  • Extensive experience in the use of Personal Computer (PC) systems, including the Windows Operating systems and Microsoft Office application software.
  • Self-starter who can perform assigned tasks with little supervision.
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
  • Ability to work to a schedule and budget.
  • Two / three years of relevant experience.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Siemens CNC 840Dsl/Step 7 PLC and CNC Fanuc 30i/Fanuc Ladder.
  • Experience with Siemens, Fanuc, GE Fanuc, and Allen- Bradley PLCs.
  • Strong knowledge of machine tool types, their function, and typical machining process.
