We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Alarm Systems Technician to join our team at Johnson Controls International. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing, programming, configuring, and servicing Fire Alarm Systems, including Simplex and Silent Knight systems, as well as other related building system products.
Key Responsibilities- Install and commission Fire Alarm Systems, ensuring timely completion and adherence to allocated installation hours.
- Work closely with project managers to resolve discrepancies and coordination problems that impact installation activities.
- Collaborate with multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software, and operational product manuals.
- Coordinate installation activities with other trades to optimize installation time.
- Instruct and train customers on the functional operation of equipment and systems.
- Provide excellent customer service, communicating effectively with district staff and customers to ensure satisfaction.
- Complete project documentation in a timely manner.
- Adhere to OSHA and JCI safety policies and procedures.
- Participate in a scheduled on-call rotation.
- Three years of documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety systems, Nurse Call, and Paging systems.
- Experience with hand tools, test equipment, multi-meter usage, digital analyzer, and commissioning devices.
- Ability to install conduit and wire, as well as fire alarm devices.
- Able to obtain and retain required licenses by National, State, and local codes.
- Capable of performing physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
- Ability to work in unusual positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, to meet customer requirements.
- Ability to overnight travel may be required.
