Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Duke University Hospital. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.

• Administer oxygen, aerosolized medication, and other respiratory therapies as prescribed by physicians.
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including cardiopulmonary procedures and pulmonary function studies.
• Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to changes in their condition.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest respiratory care techniques and technologies.

• Completion of an AMA-approved respiratory care program (Associates Degree or equivalent).
• North Carolina State Licensure or Provisional License.
• Certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation (NRPS) certification (if applicable).

• 6-12 months of clinical experience in respiratory care.
• Experience working in a hospital setting.
• Knowledge of respiratory care principles and practices.
